SPHERE OF ACTIVITY Publication and republication of literary masterpieces, poetry, philosophy, theology, culturology, history, literary criticism, psychology. VODOLEI Publishing House aims to extend the traditions of Russian symbolical publishing houses (MUSAGET, SCORPION, ORY, AL’TSIONA). VODOLEI has published the works by Paul Verlen translated by F.Sologub and Sharl Boudler translated by Ellis. One of the first books published was the monograph Osip Mandel’shtam of the largest French philologist and specialist in history and philology of the Slavs, director of the Paris Publishing House YMCA-Press, Nikita Struve. This book, being at present the best work devoted to Mandel’shtam, was published for the first time in London in 1990. The author gave the right of the first publication in Russia to VODOLEI Publishing House. Among the best book published by VODOLEI are Glossolaliya by Andrei Belyi, earlier published only one time in Berlin in 1992; Spirit Reaping by E.U. Kuz’mina-Karavaeva (Mother Marcha) published in Russia for the first time; Vigilias’ Millennial Step of the poet-symbolist, specialist in Assyrian history and philosophy, V.K.Shileiko; Attic Nights by Avl Gelliy; Verses. Stories about God by R.M.Rilke (a part of verses was translated into Russian for the first time); the collection Shpet in Siberia: Exile and Death, which includes a complete set of evidences and documents about life and death in Tomsk in 1937 of the great Russian philosopher of the Silver Century. VODOLEI Publishing House orientates itself toward an elite reader as well as toward completing the libraries of Russia with serious scientific and highly artistic literary works.
