OF THE TOMSK STATE UNIVERSITY Established on August 26, 1880. Opened on July 22, 1888. SHPERE OF ACTIVITY Library and informational providing of the educational and scientific research activity of the Tomsk State Univesity. Consultations, photocopying materials, edition of bibliography of scientific works, typewriting works, translation. The wide spectrum of services: a reader can order and receive needed volumes, as well as consultations of skilled librarians, reviews, and exhibitions. MAIN ACHIEVEMENTS For the great services in formation of the fund, its significance for scientific and cultural life of the whole Siberia, in 1934 the Library received the title of scientific establishment. The Library was selected as a methodical centre for all libraries of higher educational establishments over the West Siberia, 1969. Included in the List of Largest Libraries of Russia. The Library has the unique collection of books with the size of about 4 mln. volumes. PERSONNEL AND LEADERS The staff is 152, including 144 specialists with higher education.
