OF THE SIBERIAN BRANCH OF THE RUSSIAN ACADEMY OF SCIENCES Established on September 5, 1969. SHPERE OF ACTIVITY Fundamental and applied researches in optics of the atmosphere and the ocean, remote sensing of the atmosphere and the hydrosphere, and climatic-ecological monitoring of the environment. Optical instrument making. MAIN ACHIEVEMENTS Created is the largest in the world scientific school in the listed directions of research. For 25-year period, scientists of the Institute published more than 4500 scientific papers and more than 120 monographs, more than 9300 times reported at conferences. More than 60 sumposiums and conferences were hold in the Institute. 47 doctor’s and 170 candidate’s theses were defined. 475 inventor’s certificates were received.
