MAIN ACHIEVEMENTS Oncologicla morbidity and mortality have been studied over the territory of Siberia and Far East. The relation has revealed between the oncological morbidity on the territory of Siberia and Far East and the data characterizing the anthropogenic pollution obtained from onboard the artifical satellite. For the first time in Russia, the centre of neutron therapy has been created for treating patients with malignant tumors on the U-120 cyclotron of the Tomsk Institute of Nuclear Physics. For the first time in clinical practice, the method has been developed for intraoperational irradiation with the use of the small-size betatron, produced in the Scientific Research Institute of Introscopy at the Tomsk Polytechnical University. The procedure of laser therapy with the use of original lasers designed in Tomsk for treatment of preneoplastic cases, prophylaxis and treatment of radiation and postoperative complications in oncological patients has been introduced into practice.
