One of the oldest pedagogical institutions of higher education. Established in 1931. SHPERE OF ACTIVITY Trains specialists in 8 faculties for 14 main and 19 extra specialities and provides multilevel education in natural sciences. Has Post-Graduate Course, 14 specialities, and 9 Scientific Schools. MAIN ACHIEVEMENTS In these years, more than 30000 teachers graduated from the University; 60% of them were under day-time instruction. Basic center of training the specialists for general-education schools and other institutions of the Tomsk Region; 75% of specialists with higher education, working in the system of education of the Tomsk Region, graduated from the University. Collaborates with 96 educational institutions of the Tomsk Region. Concluded agreements on collaboration with universities of France, Hungary, Mongolia, Spain, Canada, Germany, and other countries. PERSONNEL AND LEADERS Professorial-educational staff consists of 417 persons, including 40 doctors of sciences, professors, and 156 candidates of sciences, assistant professors; 17 teachers worked at their doctoral thesises.
