  | PRIMARY VOCATIONAL EDUCATION BOARD OF THE TOMSK REGIONAL ADMINISTRATION
Established on June 1, 1993. PERSONNEL Staff consists of 47 persons having higher and specialized education. SPHERE OF ACTIVITY Organisation of primary vocational education (PVE), refresher courses, and training for people of the Tomsk Region and granting licenses to education. MAIN ACHIEVEMENTS Children from poor and incomplete families as well as about 350 orphans and children without parents’ charge study at our vocational schools and lycees. The PVE system includes 43 vocational schools and lycees where more than 15,000 students study. Engineering-pedagogical staff consists of 2143 persons. The educational-methodical centres provides a basis for scientific-methodical PVE. From 6 to 7 thousand qualified workers and specialists graduate from our vocational education schools every year as well as 200 -military-technical specialists of the Armed Forces of Russian Federation. About 80% of workers of the Tomsk Region graduated from PVE institutions. They form the main body of trained industrial workers. More than thousand unemployed and non-working people study at vocational schools and lycces every year. Training of personnel for small and intermediate business is being enlarged. In the course of vocational education, pupils produce goods to a total value of about two billion roubles. Agricultural goods are produced by farms of agricultural vocational schools. The Vocational Education Board studies and introduces international experience in training of qualified personnel under condition of market. Engineering-pedagogical staff and students of the Chemical-Technological Vocational Lycee, Radio-Mechanical Lycee, and Russian-American Lycee serve apprenticeship in educational institutions of the USA, Great Britain, and Germany as part of the International Program on Collaboration adopted by regional administration. Programs on Computerization and Informational Servicing of PVE as well as on Ecological, Economical, and Juridical Education of students have been drawn up and are now introduced. The PVE system of the Tomsk Region has more that 300 billion roubles in stock, workshops, laboratories, hostels, and sport halls to realise its goals.
